About me
Principal Rachael Caggiano has been with Derby Public Schools since 2011, serving as the middle school principal since 2018. Caggiano began her career in Derby in 2011 as a special education teacher at Derby High School. After two years in the classroom, she made the transition to administration as Supervisor of Special Education for grades 6-12. She was later promoted to Derby High School Assistant Principal and Athletic Director in 2015. In 2023 Rachael Caggiano was selected as the Connecticut Middle School Principal of the Year. The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) has awarded this prestigious honor to Principal Caggiano in recognition of her outstanding leadership, dedication, and commitment to excellence in education.
